The Hay

This must-play nine-hole short course known as The Hay, is the new version of the historic Peter Hay Golf Course.

Tiger Woods and his TGR Design firm teamed up to create this course which overlooks the site of his most masterful Major championship performance. Overflowing with fun, including an exact replica of the famed No. 7 at Pebble Beach Golf Links®, The Hay has eight other holes that can be played with any club in the bag, and an additional 20,000 square-foot putting course that sprawls 100 yards.

Whale Watching

California is one of the only places in the world where visitors can see whales year-round, and there's no better place for whale watching than Monterey. While in some areas whale watchers must go far from shore, along the Monterey coast whales can sometimes be seen offshore with the naked eye. The Monterey Submarine Canyon, the ocean's answer to the Grand Canyon, provides a perfect habitat for many whale species, allowing them to come close to shore to feed.

Kayaking in Bay

Kayak within the nation's largest marine sanctuary, the Monterey marina. Guests will paddle through the sheltered waters of the harbor or explore the expansive, vibrant kelp beds along Cannery Row. World class wildlife viewing is accented by rich local history, creating an environment that everyone will enjoy. This portion of the sanctuary is an important habitat for coastal bird species, sea lions, harbor seals, and sea otters. In fact, the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary is the only area in the world where California sea otters, currently an endangered species, can still be found in the wild.

Spyglass Hill

If Pebble Beach® is known as the Greatest Meeting of Land and Sea, then perhaps Spyglass Hill® should be dubbed the Greatest Meeting of Sand and Trees. The defining takeaway here is how starkly the first five holes juxtapose the rest of your round. Sweeping ocean views with holes darting through a daring dunescape give way to the understated natural beauty and brawn of the Del Monte Forest.
